Student work.

I include this drawing of Antonio’s — which preceded mine by ten years — for comparison because I find the similarity between the two works inescapable. I have been utilizing a numbered grid and doing ‘unfinished’ (not really my description) paintings and drawings since the days at Mass Art, long before I ever heard of him. There are plenty of examples scattered about this site.

The first time I saw Antonio’s work was at a group show at the Marlborough Gallery on 57th Street in 1984.
